MODERN ACOUSTIC QUARTET was established in 2014. The string quartet consists of the graduates of the Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music in Katowice. The quartet has its roots in the AUKSO Chamber Orchestra of the City of Tychy. The orchestra has performed at festivals of classical and modern music, as well as on the radio (Polish Radio Channel 2). The musicians lead active professional lives, playing concerts as soloists and chamber musicians in classical, ethno and popular music ensembles. They pay particular attention to the promotion of Polish music. They are experienced in giving concerts accompanied by state-of-the-art technologies (S. Reich, B. Dessner, J. Adams).
The artists lead very active professional lives, fulfilling their goals at numerous music fields and enjoying the praise of audiences, composers and music critics. The band has been successful in finding a common denominator for classical music, ethnic music, electronic music, rock and jazz. The musicians have honed their skills at the greatest music festivals in Poland and Europe: Warsaw Autumn, Wratislavia Cantans, Dialogue of Four Cultures Festival, Sacrum Profanum, Film Music Festival in Krakow, Jazz Jamboree, European Culture Congress in Wrocław, Open’er Festival, EXPO Saragossa, Edinburgh Festival, Luzerne Festival, Armonie Sotto La Rocca.
They have co-operated with M. Moś, K. Penderecki, J. Maksymiuk, H. Shelley, M. Minkowski, R.Barshai, J. Kasprzyk, A. Bauer, P. Anderszewski, J. Rappe, K. Danczowska, J. Olejniczak, O. Pasiecznik, L. Możdżer, T. Stańko, A. Jagodziński, G. Turnau, M. Miller, J. Scofield, M. Urbaniak, The Hilliard Ensamble. They have given concerts in such concert halls as: the Berliner Philharmonie, the Berlin Konzerthaus, Barbican Hall, Tonhalle Dusseldorf, Auditorio Nacional de Musica in Madrid, Saragossa Mozart Auditorio, the NCPA National Concert Hall in Beijing, SESC Sao Paulo, Teatro Caja Duero.
